Plato’s Fire is a jewellery brand for people who love the art, literature, and history of the ancient Mediterranean world.
Plato’s Fire is romantic and nostalgic, looking to the past for inspiration while being firmly rooted in the present. Our debut collection encapsulates that ethos, with jewellery drawing from the shapes and motifs of ancient Greek pottery, handcrafted using modern techniques and materials.
At Plato’s Fire once-ordinary objects, since elevated to the status of untouchable museum artefacts, are brought gently back down to earth to be handled and worn and adored.
The designer.
χαιρετε! I’m Natasha, the Classics alumna and jewellery-maker behind Plato’s Fire.
I studied Classics at St Andrews and, after spending some time in Glasgow and Edinburgh, I’ve made my home in Fife once again.
I’ve been making and selling jewellery since 2016, but spent the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic honing my skills and re-evaluating my designs. I decided to return to my classical roots to create Plato’s Fire!
When I’m not making jewellery or brushing up on my Greek, you’ll find me hunting down outrageous vintage knitwear or watching repeats of Homes Under the Hammer.
