Caring for your jewellery.
The materials we use.
The metal components of our jewellery are either sterling silver or gold filled.
While gold plated components involve a very thin layer of gold over brass or other base metals, gold fill is a heavy layer of gold over sterling silver. This results in much higher quality and much more durable components for jewellery-making.
The rest of our jewellery - the fun parts! - is made from layers of FSC certified birch plywood and plastic acrylic.
The FSC certification is a guarantee that the wood is sourced from sustainably managed forests.
Storing your jewellery.
We recommend storing your jewellery in the cotton pouch it arrived in to protect it from dust and knocking against other pieces of jewellery.
Keep it flat, and try not to drop it!
Wearing your jewellery.
Cosmetics, including perfumes and suncreams, will cause damage and premature tarnishing to your jewellery. We recommend taking your jewellery off before using products like these.
You should also keep your jewellery away from water, and take it off before sleeping or exercising.
Cleaning your jewellery.
Use a soft cloth to gently polish away any fingerprints or grime accumulated from wear.
Sterling silver and gold filled components can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap, but please be careful to avoid getting the wooden and acrylic parts of your jewellery wet, and make sure the piece is dried thoroughly afterwards.
