Violet mini choker necklace
A dainty purple violet choker necklace - Sappho’s favourite flower!
Purple marbled acrylic with hand-painted details. Designed to be worn double-wrapped as a choker necklace, but comes with an extra-long French mousseline ribbon so you can wear it as short or as long as you like. You can also swap out the ribbon for a chain you already own, if you prefer!
Please note: due to the nature of the marbled materials used, colours may vary slightly from those pictured. This makes each piece completely unique!
Handmade in Scotland as part of the Sappho’s Garden collection, inspired by the fruits and flowers that Sappho describes in her poetry.
In Ancient Greece, violets were associated with Aphrodite and Apollo. The poet Pindar called Athens ‘violet-crowned’. Mentions of violets and purple-coloured flowers recur in Sappho’s poetry, and have become a symbol of queer and sapphic love.
